By 2025, Indian nationals will be required to have a valid visa to visit Vietnam regardless of the reason for going there: tourism or business or family visits. Vietnam has an easy e- Visa system and a limited visa-on-arrival system, but the e- Visa system is the most used and advised one among the Indian tourists.

 

  • Valid Indian passport of a minimum of six months validity date as of your proposed entry date and two empty pages.
  • Recent passport-size photo (white background) digital image to upload an e-visa.
  • A copy of the passport bio-data scanned.
  • Filled online form on Vietnam e- visa portal.
  • Authentication of payment of visa fee (25 USD single entry, 50 USD multiple entry).
  • A copy of the approved e- Visa printed to present at the immigration.
  • Invitation letter or supporting documents, where necessary, in the case of business or family visits.
  • Evidence of movement/re-entry and stay (in some cases may be demanded at the port).
  • e-Visa - Single or multiple entry, the maximum duration of stay is no more than 90 days per visit, and can be used at the airports or land ports, or even at the seaport.
  • Tourist Visas - The two are of e-Visa category of both 90 days, and to extend one needs to leave the country and seek a new one.
  • Visa-on-Arrival - Visitors entering only one of the airports and already possessing official approval letters of Vietnamese officials in the recognized agencies are less popular and less convenient than e-Visa.
  • Fee - Single entry is 25 USD USD and multiple entry e-Visa is 50 USD USD.

  1. Go to the official e- visa government site: [evisa.gov.vn].
  2. Fill in the online form and place the necessary photo and scan of the passport.
  3. Expense the visa fee via the secure portal by card.
  4. Wait to be processed- normally 3-7 business days.
  5. When the e-Visa is approved, receive the e-Visa PDF sent via e-mail, print out and bring it with you on the trip.
  6. Upon arrival, present your e-Visa print out, passport and supporting documents as requested by the immigration authorities.
  7. Remain within the authorised period (not more than 90 days) and remember that any extension has to be re-applied back in Vietnam.
